Unity in Diversity Part II
No human can ever come to the true knowledge of God unless, He[God] reveals Himself to us through the infallible communication of the Bible which is His word and His oath. Our scriptural focus for today states – And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you. {Gal 3:29 NLT}.
Now that the divisions brought about by the old covenant has been taken away by the finished work of Christ on the cross, we can boldly say that any human who has opened his/her heart to Christ through salvation and daily lives a life of righteousness belongs to Christ. Our new identity in Christ also confers on us the privileged position of being called the children of Abraham. In the old testament, it was a thing of pride to be called the children of Abraham, and every Jew held it as a great honour. But for us in the new covenant, that we are called the children of Abraham isn’t just a position honour, rather it is a spiritual heritage long ordained by God that we formerly called Gentiles will be partakers of not just his name as a thing of pride but the promises God made to him[Abraham] on account of his total obedience and submission to the will of God.
In essence, what this scripture is teaching, is that because in Christ you’re also a heir to the spiritual estate of father Abraham, you share in all the promises made to father Abraham by God. Therefore it will be against the Abrahamic order of blessing into which you have been grafted in through Christ to ever say you’re under a curse or not a blessed person, because the one whose lineage you now belong to, is a man blessed beyond measure.
Gods promises to Abraham belongs to you.
