Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. {Eph 5:2 NLT}
As we continue our study on God as the only model for believers to imitate, our scriptural focus for today highlights a foundational truth that you must build your life on, if you must be successful. ‘Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ’, is a clarion call to all believers, living in this world were the subject of love has been misinterpreted. Following the example of Christ, we can say that Love is doing kind deeds to someone, even when he/she does not deserve it. Christ extended His love to you, even when you were not interested in Him, and He expects you to show the same love to the world around you, even when they don’t care. If your life is not filled with the love of Christ, you can’t give that love to anyone. The love of Christ is sacrificial, selfless, kind, cares more for others, never gives up etc.
Hear this – For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. {Rm 5:5b NLT}
Allow the Holy Spirit to fill your heart daily with divine love, then you can express it to the world around you.
You can only imitate God through the life of Christ.
