God’s Ambassador Part IV
Beloved to bottle up offence in your heart against anyone will not bringing about a solution nor will it showcase the new life you have in Christ. Our scriptural focus for today states – Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. {Col 3:13 NLT}
The Holy Spirit knows that offence will be one of the strategies of the devil to mess up the new life you have received through Christ. Therefore He says make allowance for the fault’s of other people. Always have it at the back of your mind that people can hurt you but Christ has equally given you the ability to handle it.
The reason why the Holy Spirit tells Believers to make allowance for each others fault’s, is to have the capacity to forgive such persons when they offend us. If you don’t establish in your heart that humans can make mistakes including you, then forgiveness will be a great burden and not a lifestyle. Forgiveness is a spiritual virtue and can only become a lifestyle for the one whose character/behaviour is controlled by the Holy Spirit.
Remember God forgave you first, so you are under obligation if you’re His child to always forgive others when they offend you. Therefore, there is no offence too big to be forgiven, neither will there be any offence too small to be forgiven, always make allowance for the fault’s of others and when it comes forgive them.
God showed us the perfect example of forgiveness in Christ
