The New Life Realities Part IX
Beloved the sinful nature is a spirit which cannot be seen with the human eyes, so it can lurk around the human mind which is the actual spiritual battlefield. Our scriptural focus for today states – So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. {Col 3:5 NLT}
The manifestations of the sinful nature that are mentioned in our scriptural focus are not the only acts of sin but they can be likened to the connecting link to other acts of sin. The Holy Spirit speaking through Apostle Paul gives every believer this advice – Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust and evil desires.
Sexual immorality are all forms of sexual perversions like – formication, adultery, masturbation, homosexuality, etc. Impurity are all forms of impure thoughts, contaminations, adulterations or pollutions a believer allows into his/her life. Lust is a feeling of a strong desire, especially sexual in nature which is not towards your marriage partner for couples, and which is towards the opposite sex for unmarried people. Note that lust can be in other areas of life. Evil desires are unholy thoughts suggested into the believers mind by the devil in order to lure such believer into sin.
Have nothing to do with every manifestation of the sinful nature.
