Life Through Faith Part II
Love isn’t a word, its an action, it’s a service, its undeserved grace, its forgiveness, its selfless, it is shown on behalf of Christ by believers, especially to the world of sin around us.. Our scriptural focus for today states – This way of faith is very different from the way of law, which says, “It is through obeying the law that a person has life. {Gal 3:12 NLT}
Having established that Faith is the assurance that God’s promises which are not visible to the human eyes will become a reality in your life as His child. It will be important to further state that the way of faith is entirely different from the way of the law. Under the law everything is based on human efforts, while under Faith everything is based on believe system. Under the law, for a person to receive forgiveness from his/her sin, the person is required to bring either of the following to the priest for sacrifice – a young bullock, a kid of the goats, a female lamb etc. But under Faith, for a person to receive forgiveness for his/her sins, the person is required to acknowledge his/her sin through the conviction of the Holy Spirit and confess the sin and receive forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. The law made more sinners out of humans, while Faith made more Saint’s out of humans.
Under the law, sin was a continuous process, because the law only made humans aware of sin but did not offer any solution for it, but under Faith, there is a permanent solution for sin in Christ. The practice of the law was also based on animal blood, while the practice of Faith is based on a combination of divine and human blood.
To keep on believing that you can have eternal life by obeying the law or by mixing the practice of the law with faith is totally untrue and misleading. As God’s children, begotten in Christ, we are only assured of eternal life through Faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross.
Faith is different from the law.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
