The Secret of Contentment Part II

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. {Phil 4:11  NLT}

Life here on earth is not a series of accidents; rather it is a series of Divine appointments and opportunities, apply your heart to wisdom as these divine appointments and opportunities come your way. Our scriptural focus for today states – Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.

As we look at the character of Apostle Paul as exemplified in this scripture, we have the following lessons to learn from him;

1. He did not result to begging God’s people to help him in the work of ministry.

2. He just placed the needs before them and trusted God to meet it.

3. He didn’t use the ministry needs as an opportunity to either extort or induce the brethren to give.

4. He had learned the act of contentment through his walk with the Holy Spirit.

Please note that contentment is not a virtue you can possess through prayer, rather you develop it through a learning process with the Holy Spirit. No wonder Apostle Paul can boldly say – I have learned. Friends the things you learn today in the school of the Holy Spirit will definitely be useful in shaping your destiny tomorrow and vices versa.

Hear this – Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. {1Tim 6:6 NLT}. Remember that contentment is a state being contented or satisfied with the level of life God brings you into per time. It does not in anyway encourage a life of mediocrity.

Don’t circumvent your learning process.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
