Unity in Christ Part I

Your earthly pilgrimage is too valuable to live another moment of it feeling guilty of the past sins Christ has cleansed you from, resist that spirit of guilt and move forward into the great future God has for you. Our scriptural focus for today states –  But when Peter came to Antioch, I had to oppose him to his face, for what he did was very wrong. When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile Christians, who were not circumcised. But afterward, when some friends of James came, Peter wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore. He was afraid of criticism from these people who insisted on the necessity of circumcision. {Gal 2: 11 – 12 NLT}
The right hand of fellowship extended to Apostle Paul during his visit to Jerusalem by Apostle Peter and others, gave rise to Peter’s visit to Antioch to also see the extent of work the Holy Spirit was doing through Paul and his team. While at Antioch, Peter was amazed to see Jewish and Gentile Christians fellowshipping together at mealtimes without regard to Jewish dietary laws. Peter felt so free to join in the mealtime fellowship with Gentiles and he did it regularly. This was a beautiful demonstration of the unity of Spirit and Purpose between the Jews and Gentiles in Christ..
In Christ we enjoy freedom of Association and Fellowship, irrespective of tribe, language or nationality, we are One in Christ. The death and resurrection of Christ broken down the walls of traditions that separated us as humans in true worship. As Apostle Peter was free to share fellowship with the Gentile Christians, let us be free always to share fellowship with one another, not minding the church or denomination you belong to.

We are free in Christ.

Have a Grace filled day, Good News Awaits you.
