Victory Over Sin Part IV
Beloved, as a child of God if you spend your time hating and judging other people, remember you will equally not have the time to love them as Christ commanded. Our scriptural focus for today states – Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another. {Gal 5:26 NLT}
As you yield to the Holy Spirit and give Him unlimited access to lead you in all things, you will notice that cultivating the fruit of the spirit becomes a way of living rather than a burden.
The word conceited means to be proud, vain or boastful of empty advantages like place of birth, properties acquired, eloquence, or other attainments in life. The reference been made by Apostle Paul here is probably to the paltry competitions which arose in the Galatian church on account of these supposed advantages, with the aim of checking and removing them. The Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul wanted the brethren to know that these human advantages has nothing to contribute to the salvation of a human soul, so focusing on them with all the energy you have will amount to huge eternal lose.
Those who are desirous of vainglory will eventually provoke one another and will equally lead to jealousy and envy. These negative attitudes and character should not be seen among believers in Christ. There is nothing acquired by any human on this earth that is worth the envy of any child of God, bearing in mind that these achievement’s are temporal but what you have in Christ is eternal and more rewarding.
Seek Christ and not earthly achievement’s.
Have a Grace filled day, Good News awaits you.
