Bearing Burdens Part I

Beloved instead of focusing on all the things that has not worked out, rather be thankful for the good God has brought into your life and see each day as a blessing from God. Our scriptural focus for today states – Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. {Gal 6:1 NLT}
Under the law, some people became legalist. They are not interested in bearing the burden of others, rather they prefer to add to the burdens of others. This is one of the negative leadership traits of the Pharisees in Jesus’ day. Jesus speaking about such leaders said – They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden. {Matt 24:4 NLT}
The word overtaken carries the idea of mistakingly, and so not the case of deliberate disobedience to the word of God thereby living a life of sin. It will be important to state that a believer in Christ who lives daily in righteousness is no longer a sinner by all standards while still living on this earth. He/she can only be mistakingly overtaken by a sin, because he/she still lives in this world of sin but sin no longer dwells in his/her inside. Sinners are controlled by sin because the spirit of sin dwells in their inside but for the believer in Christ its not so.
Hear this – My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. {1John 2:1 NLT}.
Sin becomes an issue of peradventure for the believer in Christ and no longer a lifestyle, because the spirit of Christ now lives in his/her life and as such can no longer practice sin as a lifestyle. Christ in you has brought you to that glorified sphere where sin and the devil can no longer dominate or influence the way you l live here on earth.

Sin is no longer your lifestyle.

Have a Grace filled day, Good News awaits you.
