Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. {Eph 6:5 NLT}
As at the time apostle paul wrote this letter to the Ephesians, the issue of slavery was still an acceptable practice in their society and also in Judaism. Our scriptural focus for today states – Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. The death and resurrection of Christ and the establishment of the New Covenant, abolished the issue of human slavery and similar practices like it. Hear this – He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. {Col 2:14 NLT}.
As believers, it is clear from scriptural stand point that we are not in any form of slavery as we live on this earth, not even to our circular jobs or bosses. As you carry out your circular job, the bible enjoins you, to obey your superiors, supervisors or bosses that have been placed over you in that organization, with deep respect. Your obedience to your bosses at work is one of the greatest ways, you’re to demonstrate the love and the life of Christ you’re privileged to have, especially if they are unbelievers. At work, your service to your leaders must show the principles of sincerity and honesty. Always bear in mind, that the world around you will only be won for Christ by the godly fruits you exhibit before them.
Serving your bosses at work, is another way of serving Christ, give it your very best.
