Talk with each other much about the Lord, quoting psalms and hymns and singing sacred songs, making music in your hearts to the Lord. {Eph 5:19 TLB}
The kind of songs we should be involved in as christians, are those that are only appropriate for the praise and glory of our God. There are so many songs in the church today which do not portray the praise and glory of God, even though such songs and their singers are in high demand around Christian circles. Our scriptural focus for today emphasizes that as believers, our songs should be Spiritual songs, such that will be a great melody in our hearts to the Lord. There are Two principal areas every Christian song should focus on 1. Making melody in the heart of believers, or simply put such that should edify believers because its source of inspiration is from the Holy Spirit and the scriptures. 2. The object of worship, praise and adoration must be God, this cannot be compromised for any reason. It is important to always ensure that when we make melodies in our heart through songs, it should be such that will edify and add to our spirituality, and not such that will corrupt our spirit.
Let our songs be spiritual and God centered.
