But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better. {Phil 1:22 NLT}
As believers, our ultimate concern and most precious possession now that we are on earth and in eternity, should be Christ and our unbroken relationship with Him. Our scriptural focus for today states – But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better. Having conquered the fear of death and established his only reason for living, Apostle Paul could confidently say that living was only to do more fruitful work for Christ. If as a believer you recognise that your life is not your own, that you belong to Christ, you will definitely redefine your purpose for living.
You are not on earth just for your personal pursuit nor are you still on earth to live and one day die. You have been placed here by Christ to do fruitful works for the kingdom of God. In Gods vineyard assignments have been given to us at different levels, so what amounts to fruitful work for one person may be different for another person. It is dangerous to either copy or enter into another man’s labour, Christ expects everyone of us to focus on his/her own assignment and make it Fruitful/productive for the kingdom. Apostle Paul came to the point were he could not differentiate between living and dying which is better, because Christ and His purpose has consumed him. Have you been consumed by Christ and His purpose, have you come to the point were living is not for material gains and accomplishments, have you come to the point were both living and dying is great gain because of Christ?.
We will need to learn to live a Christ centered life because our purpose for living is different from that of unbelievers, we are here to advance the course of the Kingdom of God in anyway possible.
Live daily to be fruitful for Christ.
have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
