True Citizenship
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. {Phil 3:20 NLT}
As believers, we have unhindered access to the knowledge and power of Christ on this earth. The true demonstration of the power of Christ is based on the undiluted word of God. Our scriptural focus for today states – But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. In our current world, humans do unthinkable things including believers to acquire the citizenship of countries considered to be developed or safe heaven like United States of America, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirate, Canada etc, which is not wrong if gotten the right way.
The emphasis of the Holy Spirit on believers not been so earthly minded that they become heavenly useless, is based on the fact that we are not citizens of this world rather our true citizenship is in heaven.
It always hurts the Lord Jesus, when believers live on the same standards with unbelievers, my brethren this ought not to be so, because no excuse can justify such unrighteous lifestyle before God. Hear this – Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. {Col 3:1 NLT}.
In any situation you may find yourself, always remember that you are privileged to share the same citizenship with Christ. Don’t allow anybody or situation put you down because its a rear privilege and honour to be a citizen of heaven.
Am a citizen of heaven, I belong to Christ.
