Today we conclude the series – Raising godly Children in an Ungodly World. Its no longer news that christian families are faced with systems that are hostile to Christian values. The desire of most parents is to ensure that their children have a strong foundation of biblical faith. Follow us in this series and may the Holy Spirit give you insight.
9. Father Should Lead in Parenting
One of the most critical needs in our world is for Christian fathers to take an active role in parenting their children. It will be a misconception or a betrayal of the purpose of marriage for any father to think that the act of parenting should be left in the hands of the wives.
Hear this – Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. {Eph 6:4 NLT}. The father is the head of the home and should be head in all things. As a Christian father, do not give all your time and attention to your career to enable you give your family a comfortable life. It will be better you also create time to be actively involved in the day to day parenting of your children. Women are wonderful at parenting but will need the man to take the lead in order to bring out the best in them.
Please note that their is no particular formula you can input into your children and they become people who love the Lord automatically. However, as
most seasoned parents understand, that parenting cannot be reduced to a formula, but requires a great amount of wisdom gleaned from biblical principles.
