I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin—a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law. {Phil 3:5  NLT}

Putting confidence in the flesh or in any other human advantage is a temptation of the devil that every heaven minded believer must gain victory over by the help of the Holy Spirit. Our scriptural focus for today states – I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin—a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law. In order to buttress his point of having every reason more than any believer of his days to put confidence in the flesh or in any other human advantage, Apostle Paul goes ahead to enumerate the following;
1. Circumcised the eight day
2. Pure blooded citizen of Israel
3. Member of the tribe of Benjamin
4. A true Hebrew
5. A member of the Pharisees.
Going by the credentials listed above, it is clear Apostle Paul was an active member of his religion. He was among the privileged few of his days, and attained such a religious status that should be the envy and desire of many others as at that time.
Like Apostle Paul, are there things you can enumerate that gives you or should give you an edge over other people in the church and society. Privileges that the family you were born into conferred on you and others that came as a result of the choices you have made in life. Unfortunately, some believers have joined unbelievers to use these human advantages as the basis to boast and also build there confidence around it.
Hear Gods expectation of you as His child concerning this matter – For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. {Heb 3:14 ESV}.

Sharing in Christ is to put your confidence in His ability.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
