The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit Part II
Beloved, turning the focus and purpose of living from a self centered living to a people centered living is one of the greatest spiritual transformation that can happen in the life of a Christian. Our scriptural focus for today – But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. {Gal 5:22 NLT}
The fruit of the Holy Spirit is the life of Christ, expected to be lived out on earth here by Christians. This is the process whereby Christ is developed in the lives of Christians, Hear what Apostle Paul says – Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives. {Gal 4:19 NLT}. The development of the fruit of the Spirit in the life of a Christian translates into the formation of Christ in such a life. So no one can claim to be a believer in Christ without the Fruit of the Spirit being the foundation of his/her behaviour/character.
Sometimes Christians get more focused on manifesting the gifts of the Holy Spirit which is for service in the body of Christ than allowing the Holy Spirit develop the Fruit in their lives. It will be important to state that the gifts of the Spirit will only be relevant here on earth but cannot guarantee any person eternity with God. It is only a life lived by the Fruit of the Spirit that can truly manifest Christ here on earth and equally guarantee a Christian eternity with God.
Every fruit is produced by a tree and for the tree to keep producing more fruits, the gardener must keep nourishing the tree with the required nutrients.
Jesus wants every Christian to keep producing more and more fruit of the Holy Spirit, because by our Fruit shall men know that we are truly God’s children. Secondly the nutrients required by each Christian to keep producing more fruit after the order of Christ is 1. Obedience to the instructions of the Holy Spirit, 2. Allowing the Holy Spirit manifest the Fruit whenever the need arises.
The Fruit show forth the glory of God.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
