Honor Christ by submitting to each other. {Eph 55:21 TLB}
The concept of submission is a spiritual virtue that believers are expected to cultivated as one of the basic requirements to enhance their relationship at various levels, and not an act of slavery as portrayed by the world around us. Our scriptural focus for today states – Honor Christ by submitting to each other. It is very clear that the issue of submission is basically about honoring Christ and not slavery or humiliating oneself. Conflict arise in some relationship when the subject of submission has not been properly understood by the various parties involved. It does not give anybody undue advantage over another person, it is also not an opportunity to undo or oppress those you’re leading either in the family, or in an organization. We must settle it in our hearts as believers, that Christ is the one we are honoring whenever we submit to each other. Submission should not be forced on anybody, rather it should be practiced willingly, joyfully and in love.
