Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. {Eph 6:17 NLT}
Your ultimate defense as a believer is in the unwavering assurance you have about the salvation you have received through the death and resurrection of Christ. An assurance that no spiritual power or unpleasant circumstance can take away from you, without your cooperation or rejection of this great salvation. Our scriptural focus for today states – Put on salvation as your helmet, {Eph 6:17a NLT}. Salvation isn’t just about being saved only from sin but it is a total package of all the benefits the death and resurrection of Christ offers to humanity. Putting on Salvation as a helmet is about the renewal of your old mind of sin with the new mind salvation offers you in Christ. Hear this – Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. {Rm 12:2 NLT}. The helmet of salvation also refers to a mind that is controlled by the Holy Spirit. The intellect, mind and heart plays a very important role in your spiritual growth, service and daily victory in spiritual warfare. When you allow the Holy Spirit to daily renew your mind and thought pattern with the new life Christ offers, satan cannot lead you astray nor will he be able to defeat you and you will always know Gods will for your life.
Salvation protects your mind from the deceptions of the devil.
