Living For Christ Part V
As a believer, you must learn to choose your friends with caution, allow the Holy Spirit plan your future with divine purpose and frame your life here on earth with faith. Our scriptural focus for today states – I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die. {Gal 2:21 NLT}
Apostle Paul goes on to emphasis that if keeping the law made humans achieve righteousness with God, then it was totally unnecessary for Christ to paid the ultimate price to save the entire human race. God chose the nation of Israel to test run the law and see if that process could bring humans back to the days before sin entered, but the more they tried to gain righteousness with God through the law the more they failed God. God also introduced immediate punishment’s for sin as a way of helping the law to be more effective and to equally help the people to live by it, but in all these, God could not achieve His heart desire, which was to raise humans who will be righteous not on the basis of fear but on the basis of love for their maker.
When the law failed to achieve Gods intention for giving it to the Israelites, a new way to achieve righteousness with God became necessary. The death of Christ became necessary because the law failed. It also became the only way humans can achieve righteousness with God on this side of eternity. Hear the words of Jesus – Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. [Jn 14:6 NLT]. To seek any other way or means to gain righteousness with God outside of Christ, is treating the grace of God as meaningless.
The failure of the law was the beginning of Grace.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
